Picture of the Day for 2/11/11

Sorry I am doing really terrible at my new blog had a really busy weekend. Here is my Picture of the Day, its once again from National Geographic, but it is from their new article, The Long, Curious, Extravagant Evolution of Feathers: If feathers did not evolve first for flight, what was their purpose? Don't worry I will post more photos from Sports magazines, I just thought that National Geographic has been doing a great job with their new articles as they always do. Anyways, what captured my attention was the center of interest on the feather and the lighting was executed very well showing the detail in the feather and it was very nicely done. Here's the caption: "King bird of paradise: Disk tail-feather tip, wobbles during display, Courtesy Peter Mullen, Ph.D." Photograph by: ©Robert Clark, type in this link to go to their site to check out more of these photos and maybe read the article: http://ngm.nationalgeographic.com/2011/02/feathers/clark-photography
